As you may remember, a year ago, we had to shut the irrigation water off to a large portion of the system due to a major leak in the West Lateral. A temporary fix was done to get water flowing for the 2022 irrigation season. FCDC staff applied for grants through the Southwest Basin Roundtable and the Southwestern Water Conservation District. We were awarded both grants to pay for this repair. The repair included lining the canal with a geotextile liner and installing shotcrete over the liner for a 400 ft. section of the canal.
